Dr. Blumenthal has been practicing pediatric GI in Atlanta since 1996, and in 1999 became a founding member of GI Care For Kids.  As a father of three, he understands what it means to be a parent and the importance of having a physician who listens. Dr. Blumenthal believes that a crucial part of his job is advocating for his patients in today’s complex and often fragmented health care system.  In order to do so, he makes it a top priority during office visits to provide the necessary time to listen to and understand his patient’s and family’s concerns. Dr. Blumenthal approaches testing and treatment decision making with the question, “what would I do if this were my child?” He treats patients as he would his own family and is a strong advocate for patients requiring complex care with special needs.

Dr. Blumenthal has been recognized by Atlanta Magazine as a “Top Doctor” for over a decade. He has served on numerous boards, including the executive board at GI Care for Kids, The Children’s Care Network, and the Clarkston Community Health Center. He has served on the board of Georgia Pediatric Sub-specialists as well as on its joint board with Kids Health First. He has also served on the medical executive committee at Children’s Health Care of Atlanta, while chairman of medicine.

He has taught medical students at the Medical College of Georgia’s Athens Campus. Additional interests include Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Eosinophilic Esophagitis, GERD, Constipation, Failure to Thrive, and the ‘Irritable Infant.”
