What should I know before arriving for an appointment?
- Please complete the new patient registration before the appointment to prevent possible delays.
- If you are unable to complete it beforehand, please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment to complete it in the office.
- Please bring a valid photo id, insurance card for the visit.
What should I know about fees and payment?
Co-pays are due at the time of service. A $25 service fee will apply if your co-pay is billed after services are provided. We are available to discuss fees and give cost estimates in advance of appointments. For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.
What if I need to cancel an appointment?
- We require at least a 24-hour cancellation notice if you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment.
- If a 24-hour notice is not given, the parent/legal guardian may be charged a $75 fee for the missed appointment.
- Please call if you will be more than 15 minutes past your scheduled appointment time.
- Depending on the provider’s schedule for that day, if you are going to be more than 15 minutes late you may be asked to reschedule.
- For any patients with 3 “Missed or No Shows” appointments in a calendar year may result in the patient being dismissed.
Do I need a referral to see a GI Care for Kids physician?
Your insurance may require a referral from a primary care physician, which you must obtain before your appointment. Patients’ families should coordinate this with their primary care physician in advance. Appointments will be rescheduled if required referrals are not received in the office by the time of your visit.

How do I obtain prescriptions and refills?
Prescriptions and refills for established patients of GI Care for Kids are routinely issued during our regular office hours. Please call our office at (404) 257-0799 to make your request.
Refills are generally not issued during the evenings, weekends, or holidays, as the doctors may not have access to all medical records during those times. Anticipate your refill needs to avoid an interruption in your medication therapy
