About

Dr. Olga Sherrod was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and raised in the Dominican Republic, where she graduated from medical school magna cum laude. During her residency training at the Medical College of Virginia, her outstanding dedication to her patients was recognized with the Emily Gardner Memorial Award. During her fellowship training, her research on intestinal motility was funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). After completing her training, Dr. Sherrod remained on the faculty at the Medical College of Virginia for an additional two years.

Dr. Sherrod joined GI Care for Kids in 1999 – and currently serves on its research team.

She is an active staff member at Scottish Rite Medical Center and Northside Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Sherrod has served as chair of the Institutional Review Board and the Nutrition Committee. She has also served as medical director for the Special Procedures Lab at Scottish Rite and the GI Care for Kids Endoscopy Center.
