About

Dr. Seth Marcus, an Atlanta native, received both his Bachelor of Science and Doctorate of Medicine at Tufts University where he graduated as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He completed his pediatric residency at Emory University and his fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Northwestern University. During his fellowship, Dr. Marcus also earned a Master of Science in Clinical Investigation at Northwestern University.

Dr. Marcus joined the GI Care for Kids family in 2008. He is board certified in Pediatric Gastroenterology, a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, the American Gastroenterological Association, the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America and the American Partnership for Eosinophilic Disorders. He is proud to be an active member of the staff at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Northside Hospital and WellStar Health System.

In addition to his broad clinical interests, Dr. Marcus has a special interest in caring for children and young adults with Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE). Dr. Marcus has served as the Medical Director of the Southeast Eosinophilic Disease Center of Atlanta and has been an invited speaker on EoE both locally and nationally. He has been a principal investigator in research studying Eosinophilic Esophagitis and Inflammatory Bowel Disease and has authored publications including original research, case reports and book chapters on a variety of pediatric gastrointestinal disorders. Dr. Marcus has been recognized by Atlanta Magazine and Castle Connolly as a “Top Doctor” and he has lectured widely at local, regional and national medical conferences.

Dr. Marcus is an avid pickleball player who also loves traveling, volunteering, cooking, running, cycling, and spending quality time with his wife and two daughters. As a father and physician, Dr. Marcus prides himself on his compassion and will care for your child like he would his own.
